{"id":2695,"date":"2023-04-05T06:27:48","date_gmt":"2023-04-05T06:27:48","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.macrumors.com\/2023\/04\/04\/apple-services-to-stop-working-on-older-software\/"},"modified":"2023-04-05T06:27:48","modified_gmt":"2023-04-05T06:27:48","slug":"apple-services-except-icloud-to-stop-working-on-some-older-software-versions","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/wp.amobil.online\/apple-services-except-icloud-to-stop-working-on-some-older-software-versions\/","title":{"rendered":"Apple Services Except iCloud to Stop Working on Some Older Software Versions"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Apple services except for iCloud will stop working on some older iOS, macOS, watchOS, and tvOS versions starting in early May, according to information <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/StellaFudge\/status\/1643410897635799042\">shared by Twitter account @StellaFudge<\/a>, a source with a proven track record.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/wp.amobil.online\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/04\/apple-services-except-icloud-to-stop-working-on-some-older-software-versions.jpg\" alt=\"Apple One Apps Feature 2\" width=\"1012\" height=\"601\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-760995\"><br \/>Users will not be able to access any Apple services except for iCloud on these software versions:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>iOS 11 through iOS 11.2.6<\/li>\n<li>macOS 10.13 through macOS 10.13.3<\/li>\n<li>watchOS 4 through watchOS 4.2.3<\/li>\n<li>tvOS 11 through tvOS 11.2.6<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>In an internal document, Apple said affected users might receive a push notification prompting them to update their device to a newer software version.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Some older software versions will no longer support Apple Services like the App Store, Siri, and Maps,&#8221; said Apple, in a <a href=\"https:\/\/support.apple.com\/en-us\/HT213593\">support document<\/a> published last month. &#8220;Update your software to the latest available version to continue using these services.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Apple did not explain why most of its services will stop working with these older software versions, released between late 2017 and early 2018, but the move will affect only a small percentage of users. As of mid-February, for example, Apple <a href=\"https:\/\/www.macrumors.com\/2023\/02\/16\/ios-16-adoption-stats-from-apple\/\">said<\/a> only 8% of actively used iPhones were running iOS 14 or older.<\/p>\n<p>Apple offers a wide range of services, including Apple Music, Apple Arcade, Apple TV+, Apple Fitness+, Apple News+, and others.<\/p>\n<p>We&#8217;ve reached out to Apple for comment and will update this story if we hear back.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Apple services except for iCloud will stop working on some older iOS, macOS, watchOS, and tvOS versions starting in early May, according to information shared by Twitter account @StellaFudge, a source with a proven track record.
